James is an experienced and passionate technical professional, with an extensive background working in large enterprise, government, defence, specialist system integrators and technology vendor organisations as a senior and trusted security advisor.

With over 20 years experience, James has always taken every opportunity to learn more about, and in turn improve how security can be done. In his current role at Splunk as a Global Security Strategist, he has the fortune of speaking with a broad range of different people, and advising organisations around developing and maturing their cyber security operations capabilities. This work also often involves collaboration across a range of internal and external stakeholders to develop and improve the joint solutions Splunk and their security ecosystem partners bring to market to help solve a range of cyber security challenges.

When not working, he is focused on how to spend the most days possible snowboarding or trying (or rather failing) to improve his surfing skills.
